Hikari is a newly released jailbreak tweak by iOS developer Hitori that lets users customize the sounds of various actions performed in their device. According to the tweak’s depiction page in the Havoc repository, users can expect to use Hikari to customize sounds for the following device actions:
- Device locking
- Device unlocking
- Screenshot snapping
- Connecting to a power source to charge
- Tapping on Home Screen app icons
- Pressing the volume up button
- Pressing the volume down button
- Tapping on passcode buttons
Once installed, users will find a dedicated preference pane in the Settings app, shown above, which allows users to configure various options to their liking. Among the things you can do here are:

- Enable or disable device locking sounds

- Enable or disable device unlocking sounds
- Choose a device unlocking sound
- Enable or disable passcode button sounds
- Choose a passcode button sound
- Enable or disable app icon sounds
- Choose an app icon sound
- Enable or disable charging sounds
- Choose a charging sound
- Enable or disable screenshot sounds
- Choose a screenshot sound
- Enable or disable volume up sounds
- Choose a volume up sound
- Enable or disable volume down sounds
- Choose a volume down sound

While there are plenty of options to choose from in the list above, the developer has built-in the ability to import your own sounds in case any of those provided don’t tickle your fancy. To do this, you will need to replace the custom file in /var/jb/Library/Sounds/ on rootless devices or in /Library/Sounds/ on rootful devices with the sound file of your choosing. The same file name and file extension must be used for this to work.
