Summary

- Samsung has currently pushed the update live in South Korea.
- The stable firmware is over 5GB in size.
Samsung’s rollout of One UI 7 has been a mess. Despite the company giving its Android skin its biggest revamp in years to deliver an iOS-like polish, the spotlight has been more on its delays than actual changes. After pulling the Galaxy S24’s initial One UI 7 firmware due to a major bug, Samsung rolled out a revised build last week. Now, the company is expanding the Android 15 update to more of its devices, including the Galaxy S24 FE, Tab S10 series, and the Galaxy S23.
Like with the Galaxy S24 series, Samsung is first pushing the stable One UI 7 update for its latest set of Galaxy devices in South Korea, its home market. The firmware’s availability should expand to more regions in the coming days and weeks. For Galaxy S23 units enrolled in the One UI 7 beta program, the stable update weighs around 1GB.
Otherwise, for users upgrading directly from One UI 6.1 to One UI 7, the OTA is around 5GB.
For the S24 SE and Tab S10 series, the full YD9 firmware is approximately 4.9 GB to 5.2 GB in size and includes the April 2025 security patch.
If you’re in Korea or want to check if stable One UI 7 is available in your region, navigate to Settings > Software update > Download and install on your Galaxy device. Given the fumble with the Galaxy S24’s stable One UI 7 update, users expected Samsung to delay the Galaxy S23’s Android 15 build until May. However, the company has stuck to its original release timeline, releasing its One UI 7 firmware in April.
Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Flip 5’s Android 15 update should be around the corner
Considering the S23’s update is live, the Z Fold 5 and Flip 5 should also receive their stable One UI 7 update in Korea before the end of this month.
Samsung has yet to expand the stable One UI 7 rollout to its devices outside of Korea. Given the setback with the initial firmware, the company may take a few more days before rolling it out to more regions.
