If you utilize tools like LiveContainer or TrollFools to inject hacks and add-ons into your apps for augmented functionality, then you might take an interest in a newly released and free tool called Forte by iOS developer Dr-Sauce.
According to the developer’s /r/jailbreak thread discussing Forte, this tool is designed to convert Debian files (.deb) into Dynamic Library files (.dylib) on your device. For the uninitiated, jailbreak tweaks frequently come in the form of .deb files, and if you want to inject them into sideloadable apps, you need .dylib files, so that’s where this comes in handy.
Forte uses Apple’s stock Shortcuts app to work its magic, but because neither Shortcuts nor Scriptable support decompressing lzma, Forte requires an app that you can download from the App Store for free called Unarchiver, which conveniently does support decompressing lzma.
Injecting tweaks into sideloadable apps has become a particularly fun pastime for those who want to jailbreak, but can’t because of Apple’s continued hardening of operating system security. It’s the next best way to get the most out of your apps, by incorporating features that otherwise wouldn’t be supported by the first party app.
Forte aims to make this process a little bit easier, for that reason, we think it’s worth looking at. Forte is available as a free download from the project’s GitHub page.
