dataMinds Connect: Ghent, Belgium

Belgium

A lot of friendly faces over here in Belgium, and the hospitality is incredible. The newly rebranded dataMinds Connect conference (formerly SQL Server Days) is off and running. I gave a workshop yesterday in this lovely classroom high above Ghelamco Arena:

Then, this morning, I delivered a brand new session, Practical T-SQL in SQL Server 2016 / 2017. This was a quick rundown of 8 enhancement areas in both T-SQL and DDL. Sadly, I did not finish all of my demos, but I have posted the slide deck and full demo code here:

They took a picture of speakers, organizers, and attendees sitting in the business seats at the arena:

I’ve taken a couple of pictures myself; this is probably the best one (forgive me; I only have a phone). I may post more to my personal blog or twitter later.

Tomorrow is my “be a tourist” day – I’m heading to Bruges by train in the morning. Hopefully I won’t run into Ken and Ray, and will make it back in time for my flight out of Amsterdam on Thursday.

It was great to see everyone and I hope to see you at another event soon!
