While the hype is all about the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7 right now, we’ve surprisingly learned quite a bit about Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy S26 series. Earlier today, we found out that the Galaxy S26 Edge may already get a major upgrade with a larger battery and an even slimmer body.

We also learned that Samsung is working on a telephoto camera upgrade for the Galaxy S26 Ultra. Now, new information suggests the Galaxy S26 Ultra might finally fix one of the biggest complaints users have had for years: slow charging.

According to reliable leaker Ice Universe, the Galaxy S26 Ultra will support charging speeds faster than 45W. While the leaker hasn’t shared the exact number, they claim it’s “100% confirmed” and that the device will offer the fastest charging speed in Samsung’s history.

Fast charging might finally feel fast on the upcoming Galaxy S26 Ultra

Despite major improvements in hardware, software, and design over the years, Samsung’s charging speeds have stayed stuck at 45W since the Galaxy S20 Ultra — along with the same 5,000 mAh battery.

Although there’s no confirmation on battery capacity for the Galaxy S26 Ultra yet, it looks like Samsung is finally addressing the charging issue.

Meanwhile, other Android flagships like the OnePlus 13, and even those from Oppo, Vivo, and Xiaomi, offer charging speeds of 80W-100W, with some OEMs even demoing 240W charging. Samsung has lagged behind in this area, never surpassing the 45W mark.

While we don’t yet have full confirmation of just how fast the new charging will be, given Ice Universe’s reliable track record, this leak feels very plausible. Of course, things could still change before launch — which is expected in about six months — but even a jump to 65W would be a huge and welcome improvement for Galaxy fans.

Samsung’s Galaxy S25 Ultra leaves the Note-like design behind for the very first time. With flat edges, curved corners, and a massive 6.9-inch display, this is a modern flagship through and through — and yes, that S Pen is still here too.
