Nothing announced its self-described first-ever flagship phone at a hands-on event in London last week. As AP contributor Andy Boxall put it in his hands-on preview, the new Nothing Phone 3 is “the ultimate expression of ‘Nothingness'” — in a good way. It’s also apparently the last of its kind: as brought to our attention by Phone Arena, Nothing CEO Carl Pei has said that, with the Nothing Phone 3, the company’s 3 series line is now complete.

The Nothing Phone 3 is actually the third phone in Nothing’s 3-series smartphone lineup, after this spring’s Nothing Phone 3a and Nothing Phone 3a Pro. Pei posted images of all three devices on Twitter early this morning, with the caption “the 3 series familia is complete.”

With the 3 series, Nothing’s taken the reverse tack to players like Google and Samsung, who typically release high-end phones to kick off each generation, followed by midrange options later. The Pixel 9a, for example, was released in April, months after last summer’s Pixel 9 and 9 Pro, and we’re still waiting on Samsung’s Galaxy S25 FE. The Nothing Phone 3a and 3a Pro were released in March; the more premium Nothing Phone 3 is coming soon.

Time to think about Nothing Phone 4

The Nothing Phone 3 is an interesting entry from Nothing, ditching the company’s trademark Glyph light array for a dot-matrix display and offering higher-tier specs for a higher MSRP: $800, bumping up against the likes of the Pixel 9 and the Galaxy S25. AP’s Andy Boxall liked what he saw in his limited time with the phone, though. We’ll have more to say about the Nothing Phone 3 in the coming weeks.

The Nothing Phone 2a was released in March of last year; the 3a and 3a Pro were each released this past March. If history’s any indication, we should be seeing something like a Nothing Phone 4a next spring.
