Samsung’s next S-series flagships are still roughly half-a-year away, but the amount of information that has already leaked about the lineup makes it feel like they’re just around the corner.

The South Korean tech giant has had a great year, and it’s looking to replicate similar success to kick off 2026 with the S26 line. The series, however, will look a little different this time around.

The S26 series is all but confirmed to feature a Pro and Edge model, replacing the base and plus models, respectively. The company’s crown jewel, the Ultra variant, will stay put.

From what we already know, the top-of-the-line model will maintain its dominant position in the lineup, featuring the ol’ trusty 200MP main rear shooter with a larger aperture, 60W fast charging (finally), and potentially an even bigger screen.

Now, a new leak stemming from a reliable source is shedding light on a significant RAM boost that’s poised to make its way to the upcoming model — one that could unlock impressive data transfer speeds.

The S26 Ultra could lead the industry

For reference, Samsung unveiled the industry’s fastest 10.7Gbps LPDDR5X DRAM for mobile devices in April last year. At the time, the South Korean tech giant said that it would begin mass-producing the RAM in the second half of the year. Although the subsequent Galaxy S25 Ultra boasts an LPDDR5X RAM, it is rated at 8.5Gbps, and not 10.7Gbps. This means that the S26 Ultra could be the first Samsung phone to feature the new technology, as pointed out by credible industry leaker @UniverseIce on X (Twitter).

To put that into perspective, the RAM could unlock up to 25 percent faster data processing when compared to its predecessor. Elsewhere, paired with the reported Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 2 chipset, the Galaxy S26 is positioned to offer not just raw speed, but also enhanced power efficiency, especially for on-device AI tasks.

Samsung’s Galaxy S25 Ultra leaves the Note-like design behind for the very first time. With flat edges, curved corners, and a massive 6.9-inch display, this is a modern flagship through and through — and yes, that S Pen is still here too.
