An updated beta version of the XinaA15 jailbreak tool for A12-A15 chip-equipped handsets running iOS or iPadOS 15.0-15.1.1 was made available with a small list of bug fixes and improvements.
Announced via Twitter Friday afternoon by lead developer xina520, we can ascertain that the latest beta release comes in the form of version 1.1.7.2, a minor step up from version 1.1.7.1 that dropped earlier in the week.
From what we can gather, the latest release brings the following changes:
– Fix dpkg LC_RPATH Library/Frameworks directory
– Fix jailbreakd bug
The change log isn’t especially long, but these small improvements go a long way in improving the user experience.
The XinaA15 jailbreak is primarily intended for developers in its current state, but plenty of mainstream jailbreakers are and continue to use it regardless. Those who are using it are strongly advised to update to the latest release to ensure they’re taking advantage of the latest bug fixes and improvements.
If you’re not already a XinaA15 jailbreak user, then we would still recommend waiting a while longer until the jailbreak matures. While the previous update did bring a refreshed and more user-friendly UI, the jailbreak has been cited as more complicated to use than most user-facing tools released in recent years.
If you’re using an older handset that XinaA15 doesn’t support, then you can use the palera1n checkm8 bootrom exploit-based jailbreak tool for A9-A11 chip-equipped handsets running iOS or iPadOS 15.0-16.x instead.
