OnePlus 15 design revealed
OnePlus showcased the design for the OnePlus 15 at the Snapdragon Summit event in China, revealing a bold new design.
OnePlus announced the OnePlus 15 today at the Snapdragon Summit. It’s not exactly a full reveal, and we’re left with more questions than answers about the company’s latest flagship. OnePlus has confirmed that the device will be powered by the new Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, which is expected to deliver outstanding performance.
We don’t have any word on a release date for the OnePlus 15. Typically, the Chinese market receives the device first, with a North American release about a month after. OnePlus announced its flagship phone earlier this year, so the OnePlus 15 may hit our shores sooner than expected. If so, it may seem we aren’t done with major smartphone releases in 2025 just yet.
I’m looking forward to the OnePlus 15
If it’s anything like its predecessor, the OnePlus 15 will have much to offer. I loved the OnePlus 13, and it marked a return to form for the company. It featured outstanding power and performance at a better value than Samsung’s Galaxy S25 Ultra. Its 6,000mAh silicon-carbon battery easily lasted through two days of mixed use on a single charge, and I had no complaints about the gaming performance from its Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset. If you were an enthusiast in the market for a powerful value flagship last year, the OnePlus 13 should’ve topped your list.
Unfortunately, breaking into the North American market is a challenge for OnePlus. I disagreed when the company left T-Mobile stores, and it’s difficult to gain traction unless users can touch and feel your device before buying — especially since OnePlus is an unknown entity for so many buyers.
Whatever OnePlus has in store, I’m excited to see additional smartphone competition in North America. Galaxy S26 rumors are heating up, and Samsung has some improvements lined up for its flagship series. The Pixel 10 devices are fantastic, as Google’s done a better job of listening to and addressing user concerns. Still, there’s always a place for OnePlus, especially since the company gives Samsung a needed push to keep innovating with its devices. I doubt the OnePlus 15 will be an overwhelming sales success in the US, but for enthusiasts, today’s news is music to your ears.
