Vibin virtually eliminates distractions during media playback on pwned iPhones

I love using my iPhone to listen to music, but I can’t lie – I really can’t stand how iOS reduces the music playback volume when a notification tone comes through. This problem really becomes evident when your favorite part of the song is about to come up and someone just happens to text message you at that exact moment.

All I can say to that is… Ugh!

Fortunately for those who agree, Vibin is a new and free jailbreak tweak release by iOS developer Chr1s that can help by removing distractions from the user’s music consumption experience.

What it does is enable Do Not Disturb mode whenever you have any form of media playback in the background. This means that notification tones will be silenced and that notifications will be delivered quietly, allowing you to enjoy your media playback without any sort of interruption from the likes.

As a bonus, Vibin also hides notification banners from the Lock Screen whenever the Now Playing widget is present. This helps ensure a clutter-free user experience on the Lock Screen, allowing you to fully immerse yourself in the music consumption experience.

Those interested in seeing the tweak in action need not look any further than the developer’s demonstration video below:

If you’re a fan of one of the above features, but not both, then don’t fret. Vibin adds a dedicated preference pane to the Settings app where users can configure the tweak to suit their own specific needs:

Options here include:

  • Toggling Vibin on or off on demand
  • Enabling or disabling automatic Do Not Disturb mode when media playback is occurring
  • Enabling or disabling the hiding of notifications from the Lock Screen when the Now Playing widget is visible
  • Respringing your device to save the changes you’ve made here

In my testing, I found that Vibin Greatly mitigates the interruptions that iOS imposes on media playback right out of the box, and it’s something that I wish Apple’s iOS development team could learn from.

Those who’d like to give Vibin a try for themselves can download the tweak for free from the Packix repository via their favorite package manager. Vibin supports jailbroken iOS & iPadOS 14 devices.

Do you think Vibin will upgrade your handset’s playback experience? Let us know why or why not in the comments section down below.
