A popular concept in the iPhone jailbreak community for an exceptionally long time has been allowing users to organize their Home Screen’s app icons anywhere in a grid that they wish without iOS automatically snapping those icons to the next empty space.
While there were always plenty of jailbreak tweaks for this type of activity on earlier firmware, they’re getting tougher to find on newer rootless-based jailbreaks. That’s where an upcoming jailbreak tweak called Griddy might be of interest.
In a Reddit post shared just this week, /u/WilkOStar said that their upcoming Griddy tweak would support jailbroken iOS & iPadOS 15 and 16 devices and that it would mirror functionality found in not only the Anchor jailbreak tweak, but also the native iOS 18 functionality that finally enables grid-centric Home Screen app icon organizing right out of the box.
Griddy is expected to be a paid jailbreak tweak, and the developer has expressed wanting to charge $1.49 for it, but the price is not yet set in stone. The developer has also expressed that they may investigate the possibility of iOS & iPadOS 14 support soon after releasing for iOS & iPadOS 15 and 16.
Given the mainstream popularity of grid-centric Home Screen app icon organization for achieving certain aesthetics that are not possible otherwise, this is a project that we will be following closely and let our readers know about once released.
