Underscore.js _.camelCase() Method

The _.camelCase() method is used to convert a dash-separated string into camel case strings

Syntax:

_.camelCase( dashedString );

Parameters:

  • dashedString: This method takes a dash-separated String.

Return Value: This method returns the converted camelCase String.

Note: This will not work in normal JavaScript because it requires the underscore.js contrib library to be installed. Underscore.js contrib library can be installed using npm install underscore-contrib –save.

Example 1:

Javascript

// Defining underscore contrib variable
var _ = require('underscore-contrib');

var cml  = _.camelCase( "a-ab-abc" );

console.log("The calmelCase String is : ", cml);

Output:

The calmelCase String is : aAbAbc

Example 2:

Javascript

// Defining underscore contrib variable
var _ = require('underscore-contrib');

var cml  = _.camelCase( "neveropen-for-neveropen" );

console.log("The calmelCase String is : ", cml);
