If you’re fortunate enough to have a jailbroken device at your disposal in this day and age, and you like the idea of custom Emojis, then we think you will enjoy a new EmojiFontManager add-on called Twemoji 15.0 EFM by iOS developer PoomSmart.
This tweak brings the open source Twemoji font from X (formerly Twitter) to jailbroken iPhones and iPads alike.
According to X’s own Twemoji web page, Twemoji features 3,245 Emojis that interoperably work with the Emoji standard to be displayed in other apps throughout the iOS & iPadOS ecosystem, as well as on competing platforms like Android and Windows.
Once installed, Twemoji 15.0 EFM can be enabled via the EmojiFontManager preference pane in the Settings app, after which you will need to respring your device. Fortunately, a respring button is provided here for you to take advantage of:
After you have enabled Twemoji 15.0 EFM, you can access those Emojis from the iOS & iPadOS keyboard in place of the stock Emojis. They will display in all your apps across your entire device.
It’s worth noting, however, that devices you send Emojis to will see those Emojis in the font style of their own device, so installing this add-on only applies to your device. The only time other people will see these Emojis is when they use X.
If you’re interested in giving Twemoji 15.0 EFM a try, then you can download it for free from PoomSmart’s personal repository via your favorite package manager app. Just be sure you also install the EmojiFontManager package if you don’t already have it.
Not using PoomSmart’s personal repository yet? No problem. You can add it to your package manager app of choice by using the URL provided below:
