TrollStore v2.0.9 adds ability to enable Developer Mode right from app on iOS 16 and later

TrollStore, the perma-signing utility by iOS developer Lars Fröder (@opa334dev) that harnesses the power of a CoreTrust bug to let users permanently install sideloaded apps without re-signing them every seven days, added an important update on Thursday.

TrollStore v2.0.9 released and announced.TrollStore v2.0.9 released and announced.

Fröder shared news about the latest update in a post shared on X (formerly Twitter), noting that the latest version can now be used to enable an iPhone or iPad’s built-in Developer Mode right from the TrollStore app instead of having to navigate the Settings app.

The all-in-one experience provided in the latest update is apparently thanks to iOS developer @dhinakg, who is perhaps best known for their expertise in the DelayOTA sector. Fröder credits @dhinakg in a follow-up post to X.

Developer Mode is a special mode that ships in iOS & iPadOS 16 and later that enables certain features and functionality that are traditionally left disabled on regular user handsets for enhanced user security. Tools in the iPhone and iPad hacking world often require this feature to be turned on to work correctly.

Installing the latest version of TrollStore is recommended for all existing users, and it’s as easy as launching the app and using the in-app over-the-air updating mechanism. The update process takes only seconds, after which the TrollStore app will appear to crash. But if you re-launch it, it will be up to date.

New or prospective users should definitely download and install the latest version of TrollStore if they’re going to install it art all. That’s because this new feature will be beneficial for users who are running TrollStore for the first time and want the convenience of enabling Developer Mode from TrollStore.
