One of the subtle treats Apple provides to macOS users is the ability to set a custom accent color. This is the color that appears when selecting options in Menus, be it from the Menu Bar or when alt-clicking on items in Finder.
It’s clear that users have taken a liking to this minuscule customization-centric olive branch extended by Apple. That said, wouldn’t it make sense to have similar options in iOS? If you agree with that notion, then you might take a liking to a newly released jailbreak tweak called Accent by iOS developer Ivan Cristina.
As shown in the screenshot example above, Accent changes the default color of elements found throughout iOS, including the battery level indicator and various toggle switches inside of apps.
Once installed, Accent puts a preference pane in the Settings app where you can configure the tweak to your liking:
Here, you can:
- Toggle Accent on or off on demand
- Choose a preferred color:
- Blue
- Purple
- Pink
- Red
- Orange
- Yellow
- Green
- Gray
The developer provides a complimentary Respring button at the bottom of the preference pane to help you save any changes you make to the tweak’s options.
Accent is a fairly subtle tweak, but it’s a nice way to put a slight custom spin on your newly jailbroken handset. Those interested in trying Accent can download it for free from the BigBoss repository in their preferred package manager. The tweak works great with pwned iOS 13 devices.
