There are a subset of people in society that purposely set their clocks fast, often by almost 10 minutes or so. This is purportedly supposed to help with chronic lateness, as it makes the individual believe they need to be somewhere 10 minutes earlier than they actually do.
If you identify as one of these people, then you may find the new and free TimeJump jailbreak tweak by iOS developer WilsonTheWolf to be useful, as it lets you spring your Lock Screen’s clock forward by any amount designate.
Once installed, users will find a dedicated preference pane in the Settings app where they can begin configuring TimeJump to their liking:
Options here include:
- Toggling TimeJump on or off on demand
- Using a slider to adjust how many minutes fast TimeJump will be
From what we can tell, the tweak’s slider lets the user configure the Lock Screen’s clock to be anywhere from one to 59 minutes fast.
It’s worth noting that TimeJump only works with the Lock Screen’s clock, which means that the Status Bar clock continues to display the correct time. Since most users glance at the Lock Screen to check the time when they’re impatiently waiting for someone or when they’re running late to an event, this is actually good thinking by the developer.
Those interested in trying TimeJump for themselves can download the tweak for free from WilsonTheWolf’s personal repository via their favorite package manager app. The tweak supports jailbroken iOS 14 devices and is open source on the developer’s GitHub page.
