The original AAWireless dongle brought cable-free
Android Auto
to our cars back in 2021. Now, its successor is out, and it comes with so much more.
The AAWireless TWO+ is making its debut on Indiegogo, and it works with both Android Auto and Apple Car Play (via 9to5Google). The wireless adapter is now on sale in limited quantities for as low as $34. That’s nearly half off what the original costs on Amazon.
Android Auto and CarPlay in one device
This is AAWireless’s most advanced model yet. It builds on the TWO adapter launched last year by adding full CarPlay support, which the previous two versions did not have. There’s a built-in button to let users switch between Android and iPhone connections on the fly, and firmware updates will roll out over time to improve its performance based on user feedback. It ships with support for dual wireless protocols, Wi-Fi 5/6, and Dolby support.
The Indiegogo launch isn’t a normal crowdfunding campaign, either. This device is already in production and shipping. Instead, AAWireless seems to be using the Indiegogo platform to validate compatibility across a wide range of vehicles before it launches on Amazon. There are only 3,000 units available in this first wave. The company says this allows them to collect real-world compatibility data across a wide range of vehicles and infotainment platforms.
This sure beats Amazon’s pricing
What really stands out is the AAWireless Two+’s $34 price tag, which is nearly half of what the previous version costs on Amazon. There’s no set date for the full public rollout yet, but it’s probably not far off.
Anyone in the market for a wireless upgrade and a no-nonsense solution that works for both Android and iPhone will want to jump on this deal. After all, why keep using your spouse’s
CarPlay
when you can fire up Android Auto and hit the road?
