Snagging T-Mobile Tuesdays freebies is usually as simple as tapping a button in the T-Life app, but not all gifts are digital. Like the spatula the company gave away back in June, this week’s freebie is a physical item, so you’ll have to actually visit a store to redeem it.
As spotted by Android Authority, T-Mobile is giving away a branded water bottle just in time for back-to-school season. But since it’s only available in stores and there’s limited stock, you’ll have to make sure to redeem the offer at the right time.
Don’t redeem the offer until you’re at a store
You’ll see the free water bottle offer as soon as you open the T-Life app — but don’t jump the gun on redeeming the offer. As the fine print points out, you only get a 5-minute window between redeeming the perk in the app and actually receiving the water bottle in a store.
Once the perk is tapped, there are five minutes to complete the transaction before the perk expires.
The best way to approach this one is to tap the offer from the Benefits tab in the app, then head to the Locate your T-Mobile store option. Find a store highlighted in magenta, then head there before redeeming.
If you want, you can even tap Save to my stuff before you head out — but don’t go any further than that. Once you save the offer, you’ll see a screen with a countdown timer and a Start button. Make sure you don’t accidentally touch this button until you’re in the store and an associate is helping you.
That’s a lot of hoops to jump through for a pretty basic-looking water bottle, but hey — free is free. If you’re willing to put in the work, make sure you save the offer before August 13 at 4:59 a.m. ET (in other words, tomorrow morning). Then, you’ll only have until stores close or run out of stock tomorrow, whichever comes first, to actually pick up the bottle.
