Upon updating to iOS or iPadOS 14, you probably noticed that the operating system automatically displays a prompt at the top of the screen whenever you paste something into an app that you copied or cut from a different app. For this piece, we’ll refer to those prompts as Paste Tips.
Some people enjoy the Paste Tips because it alerts the user to potentially unwanted clipboard access, but others may find it to be somewhat of a nuisance, especially if they do a lot of copying or cutting and pasting. Those in the latter boat may appreciate a newly released and free jailbreak tweak dubbed DisablePasteTips by iOS developer Netskao.
The name of this tweak is fairly telling, and if you haven’t already guessed, DisablePasteTips prevents these Paste Tips from appearing every time you attempt to paste something from your iPhone or iPad’s clipboard. Here’s an example of one:
DisablePasteTips doesn’t come with any options to configure once installed, and this is to be expected from a single-purpose tweak like this one. Simply installing DisablePasteTips disables the operating system’s native Paste Tips, whereas uninstalling the tweak would consequently re-enable them.
Whether or not you need DisablePasteTips is purely subjective and depends on how much the appearance of these so-called Paste Tips bugs you. Personally, they don’t bother me all that much and I do a lot of text editing on my mobile devices, but to each their own.
If you’re interested in trying DisablePasteTips, then you can download the tweak for free from the BigBoss repository via your favorite package manager. The tweak supports jailbroken iOS & iPadOS 14 devices.
