This tweak enables Apple Watch Complications on your iPhone’s Lock screen

The Apple Watch incorporates a plethora of useful wrist widgets that Apple likes to call Complications, and they permit your smartwatch to display useful information from your favorite apps directly on the watch face of your choosing. Complications are both compact and concise, and for those who’d like their iPhone to display similar data on the Lock screen, there’s a jailbreak tweak for that.

Watermelon by iOS developer LaughingQuoll was the first tweak to bring this functionality to the iOS platform just over a week ago, but with a good idea comes competition, and that’s where a new release dubbed Complications by iOS developer Ben Giannis comes into play.

Complications doesn’t look much different from Watermelon at first glance, but a closer look reveals a slightly more polished user experience. Giannis seems to have spent a great deal of time perfecting the Complications widget’s animations and behavior to look and feel elegant on iOS 13, and with that in mind, users may appreciate this release a bit more until Watermelon reaches full maturity.

Complications nails the concept’s implementation. The tweak intelligently blends the Complications into the wallpaper. A simple tap on any Complication opens the corresponding app to show more information and a tap-and-hold on the widget itself enables users to choose which Complications show on the Lock screen. What’s more is users can configure custom placement for their selected Complications by defining X and Y values of their choosing and set the number of rows and columns of Complications you want.

Out of the box, Complications supports the following Apple Watch Complications:

  • Activity Rings
  • Air Quality Index
  • Battery
  • Date
  • Find my Friends
  • Home
  • Mail
  • Messages
  • Music
  • News
  • Phone
  • Rain Percentage
  • Remote
  • Sunrise / Sunset
  • Timer
  • UV Index
  • Weather Temperature
  • Weather Conditions
  • Wind

As you’ve undoubtedly come to expect, Complications puts a preference pane in the Settings app where you can configure these parameters to your liking:

Here, you can:

  • Toggle Complications on or off on demand
  • Adjust horizontal and vertical offset
  • Adjust notifications offset
  • Change the number of rows and columns of Complications

Apart from the aesthetic appeal brought on by Complications, potential users will be happy to know that you don’t need an Apple Watch to take advantage of this tweak.

Those interested in trying Complications can purchase it for $1.99 from the Havoc repository in their preferred package manager. Moreover, jailbroken iOS 13 & 14 devices are supported at this time.
