Samsung has been publicly beta testing One UI 8 since May, with participants in the beta program receiving updates every couple of weeks or so. That is, until late last month, when the One UI 8 Beta 3 update dropped. There haven’t been any updates since.
According to a post on the Korean Samsung Community forum, that’s changing soon. As reported by SamMobile, a moderator on the forum says that the next beta update, Beta 4, should be rolling out before August.
Beta 4 is likely coming next week
The post on Samsung’s forum says that Samsung is targeting next week to release its update to One UI 8 Beta 4. It doesn’t offer any explanation for the unusual lack of updates between Beta 3 and Beta 4, although the moderator does apologize for the lapse.
One UI 8 is based on Android 16, which hit AOSP and Pixel devices in June. Samsung’s latest crop of folding phones, the Galaxy Z Fold 7, Z Flip 7, and Z Flip 7 FE, all come with One UI preinstalled, and we can take for granted the Galaxy S26 series will, too.
The update will include features like enhanced Now Bar and Now Brief functionality, QR code sharing for Auracast audio streams, an updated Reminder app, and a refreshed user interface.
It’s not clear when Samsung intends to release the stable version of One UI 8, but it’s reasonable to expect that Beta 4 will be the last major beta version of the software. If you’re eager to try out One UI 8 and you have a Galaxy S25-series phone, you can sign up for the public beta in the Samsung Members app.
