Summary

  • The Moto Edge (2025) launches in the US with AI features, a rugged build, and a $550 price.
  • It features a 6.7-inch pOLED display, Dimensity 7400 chip, and a 5,200 mAh battery with 68W charging.
  • A new AI Key enables smart features like notification summaries and on-screen content actions.

Unlike other parts of the world, the US only gets a limited selection of great Android mid-rangers. Your best bets often come from Samsung, Motorola, and, to some extent, Nothing — if you’re willing to stretch it. Now, Motorola is doubling down on this segment by launching its latest Moto Edge (2025) in North America.

At first glance, the Moto Edge (2025) doesn’t look drastically different from last year’s Edge (2024). You still get the curved back flowing into the frame, and a matching curved front display — though the screen is now slightly larger at 6.7-inch, using a Super HD pOLED panel. Like its predecessor, it features a 120Hz refresh rate for smooth scrolling and animations.

Under the hood, the Edge (2025) is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7400 chipset paired with up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. Of course, it’s 2025, so AI is a big part of the experience. You get Google Gemini integration, Circle to Search, and an expanded suite of Moto AI features.

Among these is a Photo Enhancement Engine that improves image quality in real time. The biggest upgrade, though, is the addition of a dedicated AI Key on the side of the phone. This key lets you do things like generate custom playlists based on your screen content, create avatars and wallpapers with generative AI.

There are some other features as well, like Catch Me Up, which summarizes missed notifications, and Remember This, which lets you quickly save thoughts or context using the AI Key. If these sound familiar, it’s because they’re quite similar to what Nothing introduced with the Phone 2a Plus earlier this year.

Moto Edge 2025 brings serious rugged specs and upgraded hardware

In terms of the build itself, the Edge (2025) sports a soft leather-inspired finish in a PANTONE Deep Forest green color. Motorola has also ramped up the phone’s toughness with IP68 and IP69 ratings and MIL-STD-810H certification. That means it can survive up to 1.5 meters of fresh water and even withstand high-pressure water jets for up to 30 seconds (though we wouldn’t recommend testing that out yourself).

On the camera front, the Edge (2025) features a 50MP primary sensor, a 50MP ultra-wide lens, and a 10MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom. There’s also a 50MP front-facing selfie camera. However, what gives the Edge (2025) an edge over midrange competitors like the Pixel 9a and Galaxy S24 FE is its massive 5,200 mAh battery, which supports up to 68W fast charging.

The price of the Moto Edge (2025) remains unchanged at $550, the same as last year’s model. It’ll be available starting June 5, 2025, through Best Buy, Amazon, and Motorola’s online store. It will also roll out to carriers like T-Mobile, Visible, Spectrum, Xfinity Mobile, and others in the coming months, according to the brand.
