After the event, media attendees were given a closer look at the device, though they weren’t allowed to hold or use it — it was purely a showcase. Still, it provided a good idea of what Samsung’s fourth phone in the S25 lineup aims to offer: a thin and sleek device catering to those who prefer a slim form factor.

Samsung didn’t officially reveal much about the Galaxy S25 Edge during the event, except for the fact that it will feature only two rear cameras (based on the media showcase) and is expected to launch around April 2025. Beyond that, details remain scarce. However, a new leak from the 3C certification website (via Abhishek Yadav on X) has now given us some details about the Galaxy S25 Edge’s battery and charging specs.

Leaked Galaxy S25 Edge battery details hint at a slim but underwhelming setup

According to the leak, the Galaxy S25 Edge will pack a 3,900 mAh battery with support for 25W wired charging. There’s no word yet on whether wireless charging will be included or not. Interestingly, these specs are almost identical to the base Galaxy S25, which packs a slightly larger 4,000mAh battery with the same charging speed.

What’s surprising is that, despite having a display and size reportedly closer to the Galaxy S25+, the S25 Edge is expected to come with a smaller battery than even the base model. It seems Samsung had to make this trade-off to maintain the phone’s slim design — likely playing it safe considering its past battery-related issues. That said, it remains to be seen if a battery of this size will be enough to power a device this large in the way we’d hope.

Under the hood, the Galaxy S25 Edge is expected to pack the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset as the rest of the S25 lineup. However, Samsung might opt for the 7-core variant to better manage thermals and optimize battery life on such a thin device. With the phone reportedly arriving in just a few months, we can expect more leaks and details to pop up soon.
