It’s a known fact that Samsung’s next flagship tablet series is coming this year. The South Korean tech giant has confirmed that the Tab S11 series will be launched soon, with the top-of-the-line Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra ready to lead the line again.
We already know quite a lot about the upcoming flagship. However, new whispers point to even more refined specifications, potentially making the Tab S11 Ultra the thinnest Samsung tablet ever.
This shouldn’t really come as a surprise. The tech giant is clearly focused on making its devices as thin as possible. The S25 Edge is slim, but if leaks are to be believed, its successor could really be an engineering marvel. Last year’s Galaxy Z Fold 6 was a thin foldable, but Samsung really showed its prowess with this year’s Z Fold 7. In a similar vein, even the South Korean tech giant’s upcoming S25-based Fan Edition will reportedly measure in at 7.4mm in thickness, down from 8mm on its predecessor.
It’s worth noting, though, that each of those devices had to make sacrifices to achieve the small frame, kind of like taking ozempic as a non-diabetic. The S25 Edge has a small battery, the Z Fold 7 had to omit S Pen support, and the S25 FE will also reportedly offer a slightly smaller battery compared to its predecessor. Now, the Tab S11 Ultra could follow a similar playbook.
A digestible compromise
As highlighted by tipster @AhmedQwaider888 on X (Twitter), via SamMobile, the Tab S11 Ultra will be 5.1mm thin, down from 5.4mm on the Tab S10 Ultra, but it might have to sacrifice one of its front shooters in exchange. For reference, the Tab S10 Ultra features two front shooters. A 12MP wide and a 12MP ultrawide. Samsung will reportedly omit one of those on the Tab S11 Ultra.
Although not explicitly mentioned, it’s highly likely that the ultrawide will bite the bullet, given that it’s not crucial for video calls and selfies.
It’s not all doom and gloom though. The Tablet is expected to retain its behemoth 14.6-inch screen size, all while boasting a bigger 11,600mAh cell with 45W wired charging. Pair that with the new 3nm Dimensity 9400+ chipset, and you have a thin and efficient battery beast at your disposal.
The Tab S11 Ultra is expected to be launched sometime later this year.
