Spotify users just scored two major wins. The music streaming platform is not just rolling out major upgrades for its DJ tool, it is also forging a major partnership with another streaming giant, with both developments aiming to keep your eyes and ears glued to the screen.

For starters, Spotify’s AI DJ feature, which finally learned how to take user requests earlier this year, is now being upgraded with Spanish support, text-based requests, and personalized suggestions.

Highlighted by Spotify in a new blog post, DJ Livi, which is the Spanish-speaking version of the streaming giant’s AI DJ feature, can now accept music requests. Spanish is the second most spoken language by the number of native speakers, and the new feature should make it significantly easier for that large user base to personalize and curate their music sessions.

Elsewhere, apart from using your voice, Spotify’s AI DJ feature can now also take requests by text. Oh, and that too, in both English and Spanish. According to Spotify, this is one of the most requested features on social media, and it should help you curate the music mood without disturbing others while you’re commuting or sitting in a quiet space like a library.

What is this, a crossover episode?

Elsewhere, the other big Spotify announcement doesn’t come from Spotify itself. Instead, it comes via Netflix. The two streaming giants have inked a deal which will bring full video versions of some of Spotify’s biggest podcasts directly to Netflix.

“At Netflix, we’re always looking for new ways to entertain our members, wherever and however they want to watch,” said Lauren Smith, Netflix VP of Content Licensing and Programming Strategy. “As video podcasts continue to grow in popularity, our partnership with Spotify allows us to bring full video versions of these top shows to both Netflix and Spotify audiences.”
