SettingsCollapse lets you de-clutter the Settings app for easier navigation

Most of your iPhone or iPad’s configurable options can be found in the native Settings app, but sometimes this app can feel like a maze with a substantial amount of clutter that hinders the process of getting to what you’re looking for.

Those interested in de-cluttering the Settings app will likely come to appreciate a free jailbreak tweak called SettingsCollapse by iOS developer shiftcmdk, as it lets you collapse sections of the Settings app into compact blocks that are significantly easier to scroll through.

As shown in the before and after screenshot examples above, SettingsCollapse compresses a significant number of preference panes into a single block, mitigating the amount of work necessary to get where you’re trying to go.

Above each significant section in the Settings app is a Show Less or Show More button, depending on the current activation status. As you might come to expect, tapping Show Less collapses the section into a single block, while tapping Show More expands the section back into multiple blocks.

Once installed, SettingsCollapse adds a preference pane to the Settings app where you can configure a few of the tweak’s options:

Here, you can:

  • Choose a custom text color for the buttons
  • Choose a custom background color for the buttons
  • Enable or disable a chevron icon in the button title

If you’d like to give SettingsCollapse a try, then it can be downloaded for free from shiftcmdk’s repository in Cydia or Sileo. The tweak supports jailbroken iOS 11 and 12 devices, and its source code is available on the developer’s GitHub page for those interested in learning more about what makes it tick.

If you aren’t already using shiftcmdk’s repository, then you can add it to your package manager of choice with the following URL:
