Scrobbit is an automatic Last.fm scrobbler for any music streaming app on your jailbroken device

Whenever you listen to a song in in the last.fm app, that listen becomes known as a ‘Scrobble,’ which is a fancy way of indicating that you’ve listened to the song before and allowing last.fm to make algorithmic decisions about what to play next based on your listening history.

One unfortunate thing about this feature, however, is that it doesn’t consider the songs you’ve played in alternative music streaming apps, such as Apple Music, Spotify, YouTube Music, and the bevy of other competing options you might be using. That’s where a new jailbreak tweak called Scrobbit by iOS developer iCraze comes in handy.

With Scrobbit, you can select which music streaming apps on your device have their playback integrated into the last.fm Scrobbles feature. Moreover, you can choose how much of the song needs to be played before it gets scrobbled. By default, music listeners need to listen to at least 40% of a song before it gets scrobbled – or recognized by the last.fm app’s Scrobbles feature.

Once installed, Scrobbit adds a dedicated preference pane to the Settings app where users can configure the tweak to their liking:

Things that you can do here include:

  • Enabling or disabling Scrobbit on demand
  • Selecting which music streaming applications on your device to use
  • Logging in with your last.fm account to import scrobble data
  • Adjust how much of a song needs to be played before it’s scrobbled via a slider
  • View statistics about scrobbled and Now Playing tracks
  • And more…

According to the developer, Scrobbit aims to support all music streaming apps, but there may be some outliers. At least the following apps have been tested and verified to work with Scrobbit:

  • Apple Music
  • Spotify
  • YouTube
  • YouTube Music
  • TIDAL
  • Deezer
  • SoundCloud
  • LMP Music
  • Doppler
  • Footbar2000 iOS

Getting Scrobbit to work requires you to log in with your last.fm account. While this may be a turn off for some, iCraze has been a trusted developer in this community for several years and we have no reason to think that there is any risk to users’ last.fm credentials.

If you’d like to give Scrobbit a try, then you can purchase a copy for $1.49 from the Havoc repository via your favorite package manager app. The tweak supports jailbroken iOS 14, 15, 16, and 17 devices and requires the last.fm app be installed on your device.

Do you like the idea of the last.fm app’s Scrobbles feature integrating your music listening history from other music streaming apps? We think it’s a great idea because it allows your full spectrum of song listening to influence the last.fm algorithm and give you better recommendation results, among other things.
