Samsung unveiled One UI 8 Watch for the Galaxy Watch lineup in mid-July, packing several new health features. At the time, the company announced that the beta program would soon go live for Galaxy Watch 5 and newer models in the US and Korea. Two weeks later, the beta firmware is yet to go live, but it seems Samsung is almost ready, as the new One UI 8 Watch health features have popped up in the Samsung Health app.

SamMobile reports seeing the four new One UI 8 Watch health features — Antioxidant Levels, Bedtime Guidance, Running Coach, and Vascular Load — in the Samsung Health app on their Galaxy S23 Ultra running stable One UI 7. These features are also appearing on my Galaxy S23+ with the June patch. A ‘Labs’ label denotes that the features are still in beta.

In the Antioxidant index, your Galaxy Watch uses the BioActive Sensor to measure carotenoids — a type of antioxidant found in certain foods — present in your skin. It then provides a numeric antioxidant score out of 100. With Bedtime Guidance, your Galaxy Watch will suggest a bedtime that will help you be more alert the next day. It will provide this suggestion by analyzing your sleep pressure and circadian rhythm over three days.

Given that June is almost about to end, Samsung could make the beta Wear OS 6 firmware live for compatible Galaxy Watch models early next week.

Stable One UI 8 Watch and One UI 8 to debut on Samsung’s upcoming devices

Note that while the One UI 8 Watch beta will go live for existing models soon, the stable version will debut with the Galaxy Watch 8 lineup in July. Samsung will take the wraps off its latest smartwatch lineup at its next Unpacked event, scheduled for July 9. The stable Wear OS 6 build for Galaxy Watch 7 and older Samsung watches will only arrive in late July or August.

Alongside One UI 8 Watch, Samsung is also running a One UI 8 beta program for the Galaxy S25. But it will release the stable build with the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Fold 8 first in July, and then expand the stable firmware’s availability to its older flagship devices.
