Summary

  • Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy A-series phones will pack a 6.7-inch FHD+ 120Hz AMOLED display.
  • The Galaxy A26, A36, and A56 will have similar design elements, but the A56 will be the only one with a metal frame.
  • Internally, the A56, A36, and A26 will differ in their CPU, RAM capacity, fingerprint scanner placement, and fast charging capabilities.

With the Galaxy S25 launch behind it, Samsung is now focusing on releasing other important devices in its lineup. While Samsung’s flagship phones and foldables steal the spotlight, the mid-range Galaxy A series remains the driving force behind cementing the company’s position as one of the world’s leading smartphone manufacturers. Samsung is gearing up to announce its 2025 Galaxy A lineup at the upcoming MWC 2025. Ahead of that, a massive leak has revealed almost everything about its upcoming mid-rangers: the Galaxy A56, A36, and A26.

A report from WinFuture has detailed the key specifications and high-resolution renders of the budget Galaxy phones. Interestingly, it claims all three phones — the Galaxy A56, A36, and A26 — will sport a 6.7-inch FHD+ 120Hz AMOLED display. However, only the panels on the A56 and A36 should hit a peak brightness of 1,200 nits.

The Galaxy A56 will supposedly use Gorilla Glass Victus for display protection, while the A36 will use Gorilla Glass 7+. The A26, the cheapest phone of the lot, will purportedly use an older version of Gorilla Glass.

The first two renders are of the Galaxy A36, and the remaining two are of the A56

Design-wise, the phones will look largely the same, with a vertical triple rear-camera setup and a key island to house the volume buttons and power key. Only the A26 gets a teardrop-shaped notch at the front, with the other two models featuring a punch hole. There are other minor differences, with the Galaxy A56 being the only one in the lineup to feature a metal frame.

To keep its price in check, the Galaxy A26 will apparently house its fingerprint scanner in the side key, while the other two models may use an in-display scanner.

Interestingly, the three upcoming Galaxy A phones will sport the same 50MP f/1.8 primary shooter with OIS and 4K recording as standard. The Galaxy A56 could house a 12MP ultrawide and a 5MP macro, while the A36 and A26 supposedly get an 8MP ultrawide. The former could use a 5MP macro, with the A26 apparently getting a 2MP sensor.

Samsung’s 2025 Galaxy A-series to get a modest spec bump

That’s the Samsung Galaxy A26

Internally, there are some differences between the three phones. The Galaxy A56 should be the most powerful of the lot and will seemingly use an Exynos 1580 chip. For the A36, Samsung plans to rely on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 chip, while the A26 reportedly uses the Korean company’s older Exynos 1380 SoC. All three models will purportedly come with up to 8GB RAM, though the A36 and A26 base variants could ship with 6GB RAM.

Samsung will reportedly equip all three phones with a 5,000mAh battery. However, only the Galaxy A56 and A36 will support 45W fast charging; the A26 might be limited to 25W. All devices should launch with Android 15 and One UI 7 out of the box. The European pricing of the three phones will remain the same as their predecessors.

Since Samsung never released the Galaxy A55 in the US, it’s unclear whether the company will follow the same strategy this year. With Samsung focusing heavily on its flagship phones and FE lineup in the US, a launch this year again seems unlikely. We should know more about the availability of Samsung’s 2025 Galaxy A lineup early next week at MWC 2025.
