Samsung’s Unpacked is underway, and we know what the South Korean tech giant intends to work on once the focus is off the new foldables.

We’re expecting to see a Fan Edition (FE) foldable grace the stage at the event today, with a subsequent FE device to come later this year. The device we’re talking about is the Galaxy S25 FE, which just had its first real-life image published by the Wireless Power Consortium (WPC).

We’ve seen leaked S25 FE renders in the past, but this new image highlighted by the WPC is the real deal, and it comes with additional charging specs in tow (via SamMobile) as part of the consortium’s certification listing.

From the looks of it, the device appears exactly as previously expected, barring one minor change. The S24 series, for example, used silver-colored rings for its rear cameras. The latest Galaxy S25 series changed that to black rings across the board.

Considering the upcoming FE device is based on the Galaxy S25, we had expected it to mirror the rear look, but that clearly doesn’t appear to be the case thanks to this WPC image leak.

Apart from that minor change, the upcoming device looks exactly like its S25 series equivalent, with an identical rear flash and selfie shooter placement.

Qi2 Ready, No built-in magnets

More importantly though, the certification listing reveals that the Galaxy S25 FE will feature Qi charging version 2.1.0, essentially making it Qi2 compatible/Qi2 Ready. This means that the Galaxy S25 will offer optimized wireless charging, albeit with no built-in magnets in the phone itself. Essentially BPP (Baseline Power Profile), and not MPP (Magnetic Power Profile).

Users will be able to achieve magnetic alignment for wireless charging via compatible cases.

Elsewhere, from what we already know, the upcoming device might disappoint in the chip department by using last year’s Exynos 2400e, paired with an upgrade for the front shooter. The Galaxy S25 FE could reportedly offer a 12MP selfie shooter (up from 10MP on the S24 FE). We’ve also heard rumors about Samsung opting for a flexible OLED on the upcoming Fan Edition device, which should allow for an even slimmer design. The S25 FE will reportedly measure in at 61.4 x 76.6 x 7.4mm, making it significantly thinner than the S24 FE (8mm).

The Galaxy S24 FE was released in October last, and we’re expecting a similar Q4 release date for the upcoming Fan Edition device.
