While the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and the Z Flip 7 are still fresh in our minds, the South Korean manufacturing juggernaut has another foldable on the way. This smartphone, reportedly named the Galaxy Z TriFold, is expected to land later this year. We’re now gaining another look at the potential design of this triple-folding smartphone, along with clues about some of its features.

In a post on X/Twitter, user TechHighest published three video clips that illustrate the upcoming triple-folding smartphone with some of its functionalities. While we cannot independently confirm whether these are official videos, they do appear similar to the animations found on the settings pages of Galaxy devices (via SamMobile).

Here’s a look at the phone’s wireless charging and NFC capabilities

The first video demonstrates how to wirelessly charge a pair of earbuds (like the Galaxy Buds) using the foldable’s back panel. This video will likely make its way to the Wireless power sharing menu (Settings > Battery) on Samsung’s first trifold phone. Meanwhile, the second clip shows how to accurately place the phone on wireless chargers, encouraging users to place it on the charging mat only when it’s fully folded.

Lastly, there’s a video detailing how to interact with NFC terminals using the Galaxy Z TriFold, which doesn’t differ significantly from the existing setup on Galaxy foldables. Interestingly, this isn’t the first time we’ve seen an NFC demo of the device. A leak early last month gave us a glimpse of another NFC-related animation from the Galaxy Z TriFold.

It’s no secret that Samsung has been working on a trifold smartphone for some time now, with each new leak offering a clearer understanding of its functionalities. Last week, we got an early preview of the foldable’s multitasking capabilities, while some other leaks have been less clear. With not much time left until the end of the year, we suspect the Galaxy Z TriFold leaks will intensify in the days and weeks to come.

Samsung is hosting a hardware launch event on September 4, 2025, with the Galaxy S25 FE and the Galaxy Tab S11 series on the agenda. While it’s unlikely that the Galaxy Z TriFold will be unveiled during the virtual event next week, Samsung might be generous enough to give us a preview of the triple-folding smartphone ahead of its arrival later in the year.

It’s unclear whether Samsung will make its trifold smartphone available globally or limit it to specific regions of the world. The company’s only competition in this segment is the Huawei Mate XT, which is now available in more markets, while Huawei has already begun teasing a successor.
