Samsung’s flagship Galaxy S25 series just launched a few months ago, but attention is now shifting toward the foldables the brand is expected to unveil later this year. Alongside the standard Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Galaxy Z Fold 7, Samsung is also rumored to introduce a trifold smartphone and a more affordable Z Flip FE at this year’s July Unpacked event.
A new leak has now revealed how Samsung’s budget-friendly foldable might look, and there’s one major design difference from the flagship Galaxy Z Flip 7.

A more affordable Samsung foldable
The leak, courtesy of reliable tipster OnLeaks (via SammyGuru), shows renders of the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE. At first glance, it doesn’t look all that different from the current Galaxy Z Flip 6. It retains a similar design with a folder-style cover screen and no display wrapping around the camera module. However, that’s the biggest design difference here.
The flagship Galaxy Z Flip 7 is rumored to adopt a larger cover screen that wraps around the camera module — similar to what Motorola has done with its Razr devices over the past two years. However, that upgraded cover screen will apparently remain exclusive to the flagship model. The Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE will stick with the older-style external display.
The Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE will skip the full cover screen design
According to the leak, the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE will feature a 3.4-inch cover screen, slightly smaller than the 3.6-inch display expected on the flagship Galaxy Z Flip 7. The inner foldable display will be a 6.7-inch panel, while the phone’s dimensions are reportedly 165.1 x 71.7 x 7.4mm, making it slightly thicker than the Galaxy Z Flip 6.
There’s no mention of color options yet, but the device will reportedly use the same Armor Aluminum frame as Samsung’s current foldables. The leak also shows a dual-camera setup, likely consisting of a 50MP primary sensor and a 12MP ultra-wide, though these details aren’t confirmed yet.
Interestingly, the leaker refers to the device as the “Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE,” rather than the previously rumored “Galaxy Z Flip FE,” though the official name is still unconfirmed.
Previous leaks suggest Samsung might power the device with the Exynos 2400e, a slightly scaled-down version of the Exynos 2400 found in the Galaxy S24 series in select markets. However, despite the more modest specs, the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE is shaping up to be a compelling option, delivering a Galaxy Z Flip 6-like design at a more accessible price point.

$150
The Galaxy Z Flip 6 is Samsung’s most evolved take yet on the flip-style foldable form factor. Its 3.4-inch AMOLED cover screen supports Galaxy AI features without opening the device, along with upgraded widgets and suggested replies, but its gorgeous 6.7-inch FHD+ AMOLED folding display will still have you flipping the phone open quite a bit.
