The Galaxy S25 is now one step closer to getting a taste of stable Android 16, with Samsung rolling out the sixth One UI 8 beta to users in its beta program. The latest build arrives less than two weeks after the company pushed the fifth beta in mid-August.

The ZYHB firmware for the Galaxy S25 Ultra clocks in at 832.33MB and contains several bug fixes (via @tarunvats33). One fix addresses a lock screen problem that showed just notification icons. Samsung’s official release notes only mention a handful of bug fixes and the September security patch, with no new features listed.

The full changelog of the ZYHB firmware is as follows:

  • Applied September security patch
  • Fixed the issue where only icons are displayed on the lock screen when notifications are received
  • Fixed logo cutting issue in Naver Sports Top Now bar
  • Fixed the issue of disabling the keyboard phrase recommendation function setting when rebooting the device
  • Fixed the errors that apply basic fonts after changing fonts
  • Modified the character truncation issue in personal data intelligence widget
  • Fixed the issue where the screen stops and the lock screen is displayed while using the app
  • Fixed clock widget time display error

The sixth One UI 8 beta for the Galaxy S25 lineup is live in all regions where the beta program is available: India, the UK, Germany, the US, and South Korea.

With One UI 8’s public release slated for September, this is likely the last Android 16 beta firmware for S25 users — unless Samsung hits last-minute issues or major bugs surface.

If all goes as planned, Galaxy S25 users should expect the stable One UI 8 build to land in the late first week or early second week of September. The phone should get a newer version of One UI 8 than the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7, which launched with Samsung’s Android 16 skin out of the box.

More Galaxy devices to get One UI 8 in the next few months

Samsung expanded the One UI 8 beta program to include its 2024 flagship Galaxy devices — the S24, Z Fold 6, and Flip 6 — in mid-August as well.

The stable Android 16 update for these phones should arrive later in September or in early October. Before that, they will likely receive one or two more beta builds that will squash all the reported bugs and issues.
