With all major flagship launches for the year behind it, the Galaxy S25 FE is likely to be Samsung’s next major device release in 2025. The Fan Edition phone will bring the best bits of the Galaxy S25 at a lower price, albeit with a few compromises. A new leak now sheds more light on the S25 FE’s RAM and storage configuration, and it may disappoint you.

Like the Galaxy S24 FE from last year, Samsung will supposedly equip the S25 FE with 8GB of RAM. That’s 4GB less than the Galaxy S25 lineup and half of what the Pixel 9 Pro family packs. Even the storage options will remain seemingly unchanged, with the base model featuring 128GB storage and 256GB being the only other option.

With smartphones now packing more AI features than ever before, 8GB RAM on a device that will likely cost $700 feels stingy. It will pose a bigger problem in the future, as Samsung and Google add more AI-powered features to One UI and Android. Even most mid-range Android phones now ship with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage as standard.

As for colors, leaker @MysteryLupin says Samsung will offer its next Fan Edition device in Navy, Icyblue, Jetblack, and White shades. While the names are new, the actual shades should be similar to those offered with the S24 FE.

This year’s Galaxy S25 FE could be about minor refinements

Leaked renders point to the Galaxy S25 FE looking the same as its predecessor from last year. More importantly, the phone will purportedly use the same Exynos 2400e chipset — meaning it may offer little to no performance upgrade. On the bright side, the S25 FE might support faster 45W wired charging speeds, though wireless charging will remain capped at 15W despite Qi2 support.

It may also get an upgraded selfie camera, switching to a 12MP shooter. And while the display size will stay at 6.7 inches, Samsung will use a new panel with thinner bezels and a higher peak brightness.

Samsung typically releases its Fan Edition devices in October, so the S25 FE should also debut around the same time.
