Samsung Galaxy S25 FE rumors have picked up pace in recent days, with leaks detailing its specs, color shades, and Samsung itself confirming an early launch timeline. Now, a new report provides a more concrete release date.

An FNNews report, citing “industry sources,” claims Samsung will launch the Galaxy S25 FE in Korea on September 19. The international launch should also happen on the same day or a couple of weeks early. For comparison, the Galaxy S24 FE debuted on September 27 last year and hit retail stores in early October.

Interestingly, the phone only launched in South Korea in early November. So, at least from its home market perspective, Samsung is bringing forward the S25 FE’s release timeline by more than a month. The company will seemingly price the phone under 1 million won ($720) and avoid a price increase, unlike the last two FE models.

As for the early release timeline, the report claims Samsung is launching the device in Q3 due to concerns over US tariffs and sluggish smartphone demand. Plus, the Galaxy S25 has been selling well, and the company likely wants to capitalize on it with the addition of a cheaper new model. The company has also met with massive success with the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7, registering record pre-order numbers in all major markets.

S25 FE may sacrifice battery life for a slimmer profile

Leaked specs suggest that, like other members of the S25 family, the S25 FE will feature a slimmer and lighter chassis. It’s rumored to measure just 7.4mm in thickness and weigh 190 grams — down significantly from the 8mm-thick S24 FE that weighs 213 grams. However, this slimmer profile may come at the expense of battery life due to a smaller 4,500mAh cell vs. a 4,700mAh unit on the S24 FE.

The internals will also mostly remain unchanged, with the phone using an Exynos 2400 chipset and 12GB RAM, the same as its predecessor. On the bright side, Samsung will supposedly use a display with slimmer bezels, giving the phone a more modern look. Plus, it could launch the S25 FE with One UI 8 and Android 16 out of the box.
