The Galaxy S25 series probably received its final One UI 8 beta yesterday. Just a day later, Samsung is rolling out the second Android 16 beta firmware for its 2024 flagships — the Galaxy S24, Z Fold 6, and Flip 6.
The ZYHB firmware for the S24, Z Fold 6, and Flip 6 is available for download in countries where the One UI 8 beta program is live: India, Germany, South Korea, the UK, and the US. For all three phones, the update is about 925–930MB and includes the September 2025 security patch.
The main highlight of the latest beta release is that it adds the Now Brief feature to Samsung’s 2024 flagships (via @tarunvats33). The AI-powered feature debuted on the Galaxy S25 earlier this year and displays personalized and contextual information throughout the day, like the weather, upcoming events, reminders, your sleep score, etc.
On the Z Fold 6, the ZYHB firmware fixes an Android Auto disconnection bug and an issue with the cover screen widget. The release note for the build is as follows:
- Applied September security patch
- Fixed Android Auto disconnection issue
- Fixed cover screen widget error
- Fixed camera preview disconnection issue
- Fixed zoom operation issue during Flex Mode video shooting
- Fixed the issue of icon overlap in the pop-up folder of multi-window
- Fixed the issue that only icons are displayed on the lock screen when notifications are received
- Fixed the issue that the screen turns on late when unfolding
The One UI 8 Beta 2 changelog for the Galaxy S24 mirrors that of the S25, addressing bugs like only notification icons showing up on the lock screen, font rendering issues, and clock widget time display error.
If your Galaxy device is enrolled in the Android 16 beta program, navigate to Settings > Software update > Download and install to grab the latest build.
Android 16 is almost here for Samsung’s 2024 and 2025 flagship Galaxy phones
Samsung will likely release the stable One UI 8 update for the Galaxy S25 in the first or early second week of September. The first public Android 16 firmware for the 2024 Galaxy lineup should go live just a few weeks after that, likely in mid or late-September.
The company will expand the One UI 8 beta program to the Galaxy S23 series and mid-range A-series devices in September. After a brief testing phase, their stable One UI 8 build should roll out in October.
