ReactJS UI Ant Design Descriptions Component

Ant Design Library has this component pre-built, and it is very easy to integrate as well. The descriptions component is used to display multiple read-only fields in groups. This component is commonly used on the details page for the application. We can use the following approach in ReactJS to use the Ant Design Descriptions Component.

Descriptions Props:

  • bordered: It is used to indicate whether to display the border or not.
  • colon: It is used to change the value of default props colon of Descriptions.Item.
  • column: It is used to denote the number of Description.Items in a row.
  • contentStyle: It is used to customize the label style.
  • extra: It is used for the action area of the description list and it is placed at the top-right position.
  • labelStyle: It is used to customize the label style.
  • layout: It is used to define the description layout.
  • size: It is used to set the size of the list.
  • title: It is used to define the title of the description list, and it is placed at the top.

Descriptions.Item Props:

  • contentStyle: It is used to customize the label style.
  • label: It is used to define the description of the content.
  • labelStyle: It is used to customize the label style.
  • span: It is used to denote the number of columns included.

Creating React Application And Installing Module:

  • Step 1: Create a React application using the following command:

    npx create-react-app foldername
  • Step 2: After creating your project folder i.e. foldername, move to it using the following command:

    cd foldername
  • Step 3: After creating the ReactJS application, Install the required module using the following command:

    npm install antd

Step to Run Application: Run the application using the following command from the root directory of the project:

npm start

Output: Now open your browser and go to http://localhost:3000/, you will see the following output:
