Python | Numpy MaskedArray.__imul__

numpy.ma.MaskedArray class is a subclass of ndarray designed to manipulate numerical arrays with missing data. With the help of Numpy MaskedArray.__imul__ we can multiply a particular value that is provided as a parameter in the MaskedArray.__imul__() method. Value will be multiplied to each and every element in a numpy array.

Syntax: numpy.MaskedArray.__imul__(other)

Return: Multiply self by other in-place.

Example #1 :
In this example we can see that each and every element in an array is multiplied with the value given as a parameter in method MaskedArray.__imul__(). Remember one thing it wouldn’t work for double type values.

# import the important module in python
import numpy as np

# make an array with numpy
gfg = np.ma.array([1, 2, 3, 4.7, 5.2])

# applying MaskedArray.__imul__() method
print(gfg.__imul__(5))

Output:

[  5.   10.   15.   23.5  26. ]

Example #2:

# import the important module in python
import numpy as np

# make an array with numpy
gfg = np.ma.array([[1, 2, 3, 4, 5],
                [6, 5, 4, 3, 2]])

# applying MaskedArray.__imul__() method
print(gfg.__imul__(5))

Output:

[[ 5 10 15 20 25]
 [30 25 20 15 10]]
