Pwn20wnd revises the unc0ver v.2.1.0 pre-release several more times with fixes and improvements

Just yesterday, hacker Pwn20wnd updated the unc0ver v2.1.0 pre-release with a bevy of bug fixes and stability improvements for public testers; but as it would seem, he wasn’t finished fine-tuning the jailbreak tool just yet.

At least three more revisions to the unc0ver v2.1.0 pre-release have been published to Pwn20wnd’s official GitHub repository since we ran our story Saturday afternoon. Citing the changelog, the updates encompass these changes:

12/29/2018 – v2.1.0 was updated again for public testing with the following changes:

– Fix a bug in trust cache injection

12/29/2018 – v2.1.0 was updated again for public testing with the following changes:

– Improve update checker

12/30/2018 – v2.1.0 was updated again for public testing with the following changes:

– Make jailbreaking obviously faster

Despite all the updates as of late, the unc0ver v2.1.0 pre-release should still be considered a beta and should only be deployed by advanced users with a basic knowledge of troubleshooting steps in case anything goes awry. Everyone else should wait for an official public release, which will be dropped when Pwn20wnd deems the release stable.

If you aren’t comfortable using an unc0ver pre-release for the reasons mentioned above, then you should use the latest official public release (v2.0.2) instead. The latter can be downloaded from Pwn20wnd’s official GitHub repository.

Unc0ver is a semi-tethered jailbreak just like Electra, which means you must re-run the tool after every reboot. That aside, it bundles a newer iOS 11-optimized build of Cydia that sports the official seal of approval from Saurik himself. Saurik also just recently released a new version of Cydia Substrate that is optimized for the unc0ver jailbreak on iOS 11.

If you’ve never used unc0ver before, and plan to do so now, then you can follow our in-depth tutorial about how to install and run the unc0ver jailbreak. The unc0ver jailbreak tool supports all devices that can run iOS 11.0-11.4 beta 3.
