PureKFD versions 5.1 & 5.2 optimize the app’s overall performance and user experience

PureKFD, one of the package manager apps for non-jailbroken devices that allows users to install hacks and add-ons developed for both the MacDirtyCow (MDC) exploit for iOS & iPadOS 15.0-16.1.2 and the Kernel File Descriptor (KFD) exploit for iOS & iPadOS 16.0-16.6.1 picked up some important updates in the past couple of weeks that would have been easy to miss if you’ve been focusing attention elsewhere — such as on the development of Dopamine 2 and the likes.

The last time we covered PureKFD, it was around a month ago when it was updated to v5.0 with a major UI overhaul, improvements to the code, and support for puaf_landa. But more recently, we’ve witnessed follow-up updates in the form of versions 5.1 and 5.2 respectively, the latter of which came out near the end of last week.

The change logs for both releases are as follows:

PureKFD v5.1

– Make the app a lot faster by changing the way PureKFD loads images
– Update icons with higher quality ones
– Remove extraneous code
– Update kfund (added the patchfinder)

PureKFD v5.2

– Add panic detection
– Change the app layout
– Add support for SwiftKFD
– Various other bug fixes & improvements

If you’re already taking advantage of PureKFD, then we would recommend updating to the latest release to ensure that you’ve got the latest bug fixes and improvements for the best possible stability.

The latest update can be installed directly over your existing installation either with TrollStore’s perma-signing or with a sideloading method such as AltStore or Sideloadly. If you have TrollStore, then we recommend that method as it doesn’t require a computer and also lacks the seven-day resigning requirements.

If you haven’t used PureKFD before, and you’re interested in giving it a try, then you should download and use the latest version you can from the project’s GitHub page.

We have tutorials below that can help you install PureKFD on your device:

While PureKFD doesn’t require a jailbreak to use, it’s worth noting that you can certainly install it on jailbroken devices alongside your jailbreak tweaks and install exploit-based hacks and add-ons alongside them as long as they don’t conflict with one another. You must, however, be on a compatible firmware.

Are you using the latest version of PureKFD yet? Be sure to let us know why or why not in the comments section down below.
