Those with jailbroken handsets probably understand the importance of respringing and using safe mode for troubleshooting, among other things. Unfortunately, many of these features can be too far out of reach for comfort, and that’s why iOS developer Muirey03 has created a new free add-on jailbreak tweak for CCModules called PowerModule.
Just as the name implies, PowerModule adds a new module to the Control Center interface that encompasses a bevy of different power options, among other things. Some of the toggles it supports include:
- Respringing your handset
- Entering safe mode on your handset
- Powering down your handset
- Accessing UICache on your handset
- Rebooting your handset
- Locking your handset (Lock screen)
Like other Control Center modules, PowerModule can be
toggled on or off on demand from the native Control Center preference pane in the
Settings app:
You’ll also find a dedicated preference pane for PowerModule
in the Settings app where you can toggle warning prompts for each of the
individual buttons to prevent accidental toggling.
PowerModule appears to be utilitarian by nature, and if you consider yourself to be a jailbreak power-user, then you should consider adding it to your jailbreak tweak arsenal. The tweak is available as a free download from Cydia’s Packix repository and should play nicely with all jailbroken iOS 11 and iOS 12 devices.
What are your thoughts about the usefulness of PowerModule?
