The Pixel 7a came out in May 2023, followed by the Pixel 8a in the subsequent year, which was released in the month of May as well. Last year’s Pixel 9a launched in the month of April, marking an earlier than usual launch, and the Pixel 10a could very well follow suit.
According to a recent leak, Google will open pre-orders for the Pixel 10a starting February 18, followed by availability on March 6.
Considering the aggressive timeline, it’s no surprise that leaks surrounding the device are in high gear.
We’ve seen renders of the upcoming device in the past, and now, thanks to the ever-credible Evan Blass, we have official-looking marketing images that seem to have escaped right out of Google’s private Drive folder (via 9to5Google).
Blass shared eight photos of the upcoming device in a Pixel 10-reminiscent Indigo colorway, highlighting the reported Pixel 10a from almost all sides and angles.
In addition to the hardware, the leaked marketing images also highlight Gemini Live running on the Pixel 10a, complete with ‘Hold for Me‘ functionality for calls, as seen in the embedded tweet below. Other images highlight the device’s water/dust resistance and durability.
A (very) familiar silhouette
Google seems to have done no work on the device’s bezels, because they appear as unsightly as the Pixel 9a’s.
The volume rocker and the power button retain their position on the right, and the selfie shooter is still the same pinhole cutout one. The rear camera bar still sits almost flush with the phone’s body. There’s honestly not much to see here. The upcoming device looks like a Pixel 9a with potentially beefier internals.
The only surprising thing here is the color. We’ve been conditioned by previous leaks to expect the Pixel 10a in only Obsidian (black), Fog (off-white), Lavender (purple), and Berry (red/pink) colorways. With the appearance of an Indigo variant, it is unclear if the device will be available in five distinct colors, or if one of the originally-leaked colorways will be scratched.
Regardless, we should know more very, very soon. Google is expected to open pre-orders for the Pixel 10a starting February 18, followed by availability on March 6.
