It seems like customizing the Status Bar is the hot new trend this week. Not only did we show you new add-ons called Helium and Joutai for exactly these purposes, but another newly released add-on called PiP Status Bar 1.0 by iOS developer Phuc Do does this too.
Much like Helium, PiP Status Bar adds a special heads-up display (HUD) below the Status Bar instead of replacing individual items in the existing Status Bar. Where it differs is in the widget offerings and aesthetics.
In the example shown above, you will see that PiP Status Bar features four different widget displays at once, including the date, the time, current battery level percentage, and RAM usage data. You’ll also notice that instead of being plain white, PiP Status Bar features unique colors and a background to help it be more visible over different interfaces.
For anyone who might be interested in giving PiP Status Bar a try, the add-on can be had from the Misaka package manager app. Unlike other add-ons that use exploits, this add-on is based on PiP, so it works on all firmware up to and including iOS 17. You also don’t need a jailbreak to take advantage of this add-on.
If you’re not already taking full advantage of the Misaka package manager app, then you can follow one of the tutorials below to get started:
- How to perma-sign Misaka on iOS & iPadOS 15.0-16.1.2 with TrollStore
- How to sideload Misaka on any firmware with Sideloadly
Are you going to be enhancing your Status Bar with the new PiP Status Bar add-on, or will you use one of the other alternatives we’ve shown you this week? Let us know in the comments section down below.
