Palera1n-c version 2.0.0 beta 4 update adds further improvements

The palera1n team quietly pushed another update to the C-based rewrite of the palera1n jailbreak tool this week, commonly referred to as palera1n-c. The latest version now available to the general public is version 2.0.0 beta 4.

Citing the change log for palera1n v2.0.0 beta 4, we can gather that the update introduces the following changes:

– Display an error instead of crashing when the machine has no detected USB ports
– Fix detecting DFU mode devices that are already connected when palera1n-c is started
– Make SpringBoard show non-default system apps (seems to be relevant on iPads)
– Fixed version string

The palera1n-c jailbreak tool first launched over the weekend, with the C re-write lending performance and stability improvements compared to the original tool. These updates further refine the rewrite, making it better for end users despite still technically being a public beta.

If you’re just getting started with palera1n-c, then you will obviously want to acquire the latest beta release when attempting to jailbreak. The same goes for anyone already using palera1n-c, as it’s easy to re-apply the latest version of the jailbreak the next time you go to reboot.

As always, you can acquire the latest version of palera1n-c from the project’s GitHub page. The palera1n-c jailbreak supports A9-A11 chip-equipped handsets running iOS or iPadOS 15.0-16.3.1.
