Opa334 seeds sixth beta of Fugu15 Max jailbreak for arm64e devices on iOS 15.0-15.4.1 with minor bug fix

Developer Lars Fröder (opa334) published a sixth Fugu15 Max public beta early Thursday morning with a rapid bug fix after seeding a fifth public beta just yesterday.

Announced via Twitter, Fugu15 Max beta 6 is a relatively minor update that builds upon beta 5, and citing the project’s GitHub page, it comprises of the following change:

Changelog:

– Fix some memory corruptions in the systemwide and launchd hooks, should fix “initproc excited” random panic

The sixth Fugu15 Max is still only intended for developers so that they can prepare their jailbreak tweaks and other add-ons to support it and the rootless dynamic, but due to being publicly available, even non-developers can test it out. It’s worth noting, however, that the latter isn’t recommended and Fröder won’t offer support to non-developers who install the beta.

Instead, ordinary jailbreakers are recommended to wait until Fugu15 Max comes out of beta, which is expected to happen in the near future as most of the major milestones have been achieved ranging from fixing the Wi-Fi bug, implementing tweak injection, and a few other things. For now, the one of the major things still missing is a boost in user-friendliness.

Fugu15 Max is based heavily on Linus Henze’s Fugu15 jailbreak for arm64e devices (iPhone XS and later) running iOS & iPadOS 15.0-15.4.1. Fugu15 Max is the project’s working name, so we expect that Fröder will give it a different name when it comes out of beta and gets released to the general public.

If you’re using an older A9-A11 chip-equipped device that is older than the iPhone XS, then you can use the checkm8 bootrom exploit-based palera1n jailbreak to pwn iOS or iPadOS 15.0-16.x instead.

For now, anyone taking advantage of the Fugu15 Max developer beta can get the latest beta from the project’s GitHub page. It’s important not to download the jailbreak from any other source for safety reasons.
