Samsung is currently in the process of rolling out the Android 16-based One UI 8 update to its flagship devices. The South Korean tech giant has also shared a roadmap about when it plans to make the update available to Galaxy handsets, but the company has so far been tight-lipped about the next feature update after One UI 8, which is the One UI 8.5 update.

While it’s too early for Samsung to start talking about it officially, leakers have found a way to reveal what features the company is planning to introduce in One UI 8.5. Of all One UI 8.5 leaks we’ve seen so far, the revamped Quick Panel is perhaps the most exciting one.

New leak shows how to resize tiles in One UI 8.5’s Quick Panel

Previous leaks revealed that Samsung will introduce more customization options in the Quick Panel in One UI 8.5. And now, we just got the first look at how those new customization features will work in action, courtesy of famed leaker @tarunvats33.

The leaker posted a 38-second video on their X handle, showcasing how the resizing of tiles works in the new Quick Panel in One UI 8.5. As per the video, users will be able to resize only by dragging a specific edge or corner of the tile. How do you know which corner or edge to drag? Well, One UI 8.5 shows a line along the border, indicating the area you can drag to resize the tile.

For those who aren’t aware, One UI 8.5 will reportedly have fully customizable Quick Panel, meaning you can move and remove any module. The video also corroborates that, as it shows the “Take screenshot” control is moving from one place to another in the Quick Panel. It also shows you can resize everything in the Quick Panel.

In addition to the ability to resize, move, and remove the modules, One UI 8.5 will also come with several other new features and improvements, including an updated My Files app with new icons for file categories, a redesigned Phone app, and more.

We’ll get more One UI 8.5 leaks as we get close to its release, highlighting major changes in the update. However, Samsung hasn’t made anything official regarding when it’ll start beta testing the One UI 8.5 update. Whenever the beta program starts, the update will first land on Samsung’s latest flagships for those who join the beta.
