At the rate we’re getting Galaxy Z Flip leaks, the only thing left to reveal at Galaxy Unpacked in a couple of weeks will be the shipping date. Today, another set of renders dropped from, once again, a highly reputable source: the Substack mailing list of Evan Blass, aka @evleaks on X/Twitter. These images represent the Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Flip 7 FE at what appears to be identical scaling, which makes comparison simple. After careful evaluation, we found two minor variations, in addition to the one major difference everybody’s expecting.

Samsung

Even though the unveiling is still weeks away, Samsung has already opened up pre-registration for the Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Fold 7. If you get on the list now, you’ll earn a $50 credit for official Samsung accessories, get 3x rewards points on your purchase, and have a chance at a $5,000 sweepstakes prize.

High-res renders to the rescue

Continuing the drip-feed of Galaxy Z Flip rumors

Multiple widgets on the cover screen of a Galaxy Z Flip 6.

This is the Z Flip 6. The Z Flip 7 FE will look just like it.

We’re pretty sure we know a lot about the Z Flip 7 and its less costly counterpart, even though they haven’t been officially revealed. They’ll probably have 12GB and 8GB of RAM, respectively, the full-fat version will have a slightly bigger screen, and the cover display on the flagship will stretch from corner to corner. This new set of renders further solidifies that final and most noticeable difference, but also hints at two other rumored discrepancies. And one image brings the excitement of one of the most talked-about mobile phone colors ever, across all brands.

The Z Flip 7 FE is basically a redo of the Z Flip 6 with slightly more affordable components inside. It gets the folder-shaped external screen of the sixth-gen flip phone and has identical dimensions. The new renders present both it and the high-end Z Flip 7 from the same perspective. Other than the Z Flip 7’s edge-to-edge cover display, flicking back and forth between the two models reveals a couple of key differences.

The Z Flip 7 FE will retain the Z Flip 6’s geometry, but the Z Flip 7 will have a slightly smaller corner radius, making the corners ever-so-slightly less rounded. The refined shape helps reclaim screen space, and should contribute to increased usability alongside the high-end model’s 0.15″-larger panel.

The more costly edition also appears a tiny bit wider in the new slides. The larger handset’s increased height — with a difference of just 1.5mm — is almost impossible to notice, though. The two models appear to be of identical thickness, as well. The only other visible change is a reorganization of frame reinforcements. The updated flagship has a single visible reinforcement point between the USB port and the speaker and mic ports, whereas the Flip 6 and 7 FE had two such visible markings flanking either side of the phone’s bottom edge.

And now, the visually interesting part

Leaked Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 render in Coral red

You have to work to spot the smaller differences here. But one bit of Z Flip 7 news makes today’s leak especially worthwhile. Instead of resting solely on the tried-and-true, somewhat muted colors of years past, one render again confirms Samsung’s going all out with a new Coral Red colorway. So far, it looks slightly redder and less orangered than the Coral you may fondly remember from the Google Pixel lineup. It’s an eye-catching outfit, and should spice up a lineup that looks relatively bland, otherwise.
