NetworkList lets jailbreakers look back at previously-used Wi-Fi passwords in iOS

There are often times when we get asked, “do you know the Wi-Fi password for this place?” In many cases, we may have joined a secured Wi-Fi network and forgotten the password used to log in to it.

Looking back at previously-used Wi-Fi passcodes is something that we can do rather easily from macOS or Windows, but that isn’t the case with iOS or iPadOS. Doing the same on devices with the latter operating systems has always required a jailbreak.

If you’re still with us by now, then it’s probably because you’re interested in learning this capability. Fortunately, there’s nothing to learn as a new and free jailbreak tweak dubbed NetworkList by iOS developer daniel makes it a walk in the park.

Once installed, NetworkList adds a new dedicated section to the Wi-Fi preference pane entitled “Known Networks” that can be tapped to view all previously-used Wi-Fi network SSIDs along with the last date of access and even their passwords (if applicable).

Granted, most of the information in this section is too long to display properly on a skinny iPhone screen, the Wi-Fi network password should be legible in nearly every instance, making it easy to reference and share with others.

Forgetful individuals and those who’ve had Wi-Fi passwords entered into their device for them can use this tweak to ensure connectivity for themselves and anyone around them at any time. Saying that’s convenient would be a serious understatement given the connected way of life that many of us live in today.

If you’re interested in trying the new NetworkList tweak on your pwned handset, then you can download it for free from the Packix repository via your favorite package manager app. The tweak supports jailbroken iOS 13 & 14 devices.

Do you ever find yourself scrambling to find the password of a previously-user Wi-Fi network? Let us know in the comments section down below.
