The Boox Palma 2 is a phone-sized E Ink e-reader featuring a 6.13-inch screen, ensuring easy reading on the go without occupying too much space in your pocket or bag, and it’s currently on sale for Prime Day at an unbeatable price.

We’ve been covering Boox devices here at AP for many years, and I can say I’m a fan of the company’s products, especially the ultra-portable Palma 2. Sure, it may look like a smartphone, and that’s why it’s so unique. This is an E Ink e-reader that you can easily slide into a pocket for reading on the go, a device that runs Android, ensuring a wide selection of app compatibility, making for an incredibly versatile handheld e-reader that’s perfect for reading both online and off, no matter if you’re interested in blogs like AP, or the latest novel.

Having launched late last year, the Palma 2 typically retails for $300, and today is the first time it’s seen a major discount, ensuring this is the lowest price we’ve seen at $30 off, bringing the cost down to $270. It’s a deal that’s too good to pass up, especially when Boox rarely places its e-readers on sale to begin with. This is a rare Prime Day treat, so don’t miss out.

What’s great about the Boox Palma 2 e-reader

It’s one of the few e-readers on the market that can truly fit in your pocket

I absolutely adored the original Palma when it landed back in 2023, and I’m not alone in that thinking, which is why I was very excited to see the Palma 2 launch last year, bringing a few improvements along for the ride. The biggest improvement is that the Palma 2 is running a newer version of Android, 13 to be exact, which will ensure better compatibility with the ecosystem. The processor is slightly faster as well, and the lighting appears to be more even, one of my biggest complaints about the original. Boox took what was great about the OG and polished the device to a sheen.

Of course, the biggest draw for me is how the Palma 2 easily fits in a pocket or bag, thanks to a 6.13-inch E Ink screen, similar to the size of our smartphones. While there is no cellular modem to speak of, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are included for easy connections to data and hardware, so you can stream music apps like Spotify while reading, and yes, a speaker is built in, perfect for jamming to some tunes or listening to your favorite audiobooks.

Another one of my favorite features is the inclusion of a hardware button that’s used for refreshing the screen. While there are plenty of options to dial in your preferred E Ink setting on a per-app basis, ghosting can still occur, and being able to tap a physical button to clear things up sure is welcome, something more e-readers should offer, in my opinion.

Ultimately, the Palma 2 has yet to see any notable discounts since its release, which is what makes today’s Prime Day deal worthwhile. This is the first time you can score a Palma 2 for $30 off, which appears to be the only e-reader deal Boox is offering for Prime Day, which tell you all you need to know about how rare this discount is. So, if you have a hankering for an e-reader that can truly fit in your pocket, I highly recommend this Prime Day deal to all of you bookworms out there. Enjoy!
