Google Nest Thermostat

Brand

Google Nest

Famous for its stark design and user-friendly interfaces, the Nest Thermostat is a real Google hit. Aside from simply adjusting and scheduling heating and cooling levels, it monitors humidity and can automatically switch to energy-saving mode when no one’s around to save you money. For those interested in the new Matter smart ecosystem, it’s one of the few thermostats with support. While it lacks the learning algorithms of its more expensive relative, most people won’t miss them.

I literally started building out my smart home with this Google Nest Thermostat, and I can say it is still one of my favorite pieces of gear.

I found the installation to be easy (just make sure you have a C wire for power), and setting a schedule is pretty breezy, all with the convenience of being able to adjust your temps from anywhere, even if you’re not at home.

The convenience the Google Nest Thermostat adds to controlling your home’s temperatures can’t be beat, that is, unless you can catch this thermostat on sale.

Seeing that it’s Prime Day, sales abound, and you better believe Google’s Nest Thermostat is currently discounted. As a matter of fact, you can save $40 on the smart thermostat right now.

It’s easily one of the lowest prices we’ve seen, and each color is available, which is great for anyone looking to match their home decor.

Once you get the Nest installed, simply dip into the Google Home app to control things.

Since the app saw an overhaul that makes it easy to pin your favorite functions to its start screen, you can easily change your temps by clicking a shortcut in Android Quick Settings to jump to the Home app that houses all the shortcuts you set. This way, you can look at a camera or change the temp with ease.

Once again, the convenience such a device brings to the table is king.

I’m also a fan of Google offering numerous colors across its smart home gear, especially with the Nest Thermostat, and you can easily match your walls or decor. After all, what good is a smart home that looks like a mess?

I’m also a fan of the Nest Thermostat’s minimal design. There are no buttons; you use the touch area on the side to scroll through the menu, keeping things sleek-looking while offering full functionality that allows the thermostat to be easily controlled on the wall.

Sure, I’ve reviewed the fancier Nest Learning Thermostat, which is also a killer device, but if you’re looking to start your smart home with something a little simpler, I can vouch that the Google Nest Thermostat is the best place to start.

It’s what introduced me to the convenience of running a smart home, and for me, there is no going back. So don’t skip this deal; you may find your life is a little more carefree with the help of a smart thermostat.
